An existing client of Waters Productions required an Audio Visual solution for a Christmas Party at the Sushi Samba restaurant located on the 38th Floor of Heron Tower in the City of London. This year, the client requested staging, a sound technician to reinforce a band, perform a sound check and mix the audio live. They also needed someone to operate the in house lighting rig.

Waters Productions have experience with working in all kinds of venues including other restaurants such as the Avenue Bar in St. James, German Gymnasium and the Henrietta Hotel and could therefore plan and execute the setup quickly and efficiently.

The first stage was to attend a site visit at the venue

The first stage was to attend a site visit at the venue, so that we could identify how many speakers were needed to to ensure the band would be loud enough to fill the space, the most ideal positioning for the stage and to find out the best way to get the equipment in and out of the building.

Waters Productions designed the perfect system for the event

Once the site visit was completed, Waters Productions designed the perfect system for the event, liaising with the band to provide the ideal equipment for their “Sound”. This was a state of the art Yamaha QL Series mixing console and various professional microphones.

A team of 5 riggers assisted with the set up

On the evening of the event, the Waters Productions team arrived to set up the equipment. Due to the complicated logistics of the venue and time restrictions at the loading bay, the team were required to rig all equipment within an hour. A team of 5 riggers assisted with the set up, navigating the tight spaces in the back of the restaurant and ensuring everything was ready for the soundcheck.

Our technician worked closely with the band throughout the evening to make sure they were happy with their sound. We also connected our system to the venue’s PA, transporting the audio throughout various rooms in the restaurant.

The event ran smoothly and the client, band and guests were all very satisfied with our service.
