Waters Productions - June 5, 2017

The Beacon Awards recognise philanthropists who are using their resources to benefit society. The event aims to positively influence the philanthropy of future generations. JP Morgan, City of London Corporation’s charity, City Bridge Trust, and Pears Foundation sponsored this year’s event.

First, we established which venue would be hosting the event

Stage 3 Events contacted Waters Productions Limited (WPL) in January to discuss the AV requirements for the event. First, we established which venue would be hosting the event (in this case the “Egyptian Hall” at “Mansion House”). Following the first guidelines, our proposals were underway by the 2nd week of January.

We installed two 75” and two 65” LED screens to display the presentations

As the room was large, we proposed a substantial sound system to make sure it was audible to the 180+ guests. We installed two 75” and two 65” LED screens to display the presentations/videos. Another request was to create a sense of atmosphere to the event. WPL achieved this with our latest wireless LED uplighters which we set to purple to match the company’s branding. Wireless LED’s were advised to achieve neatness and safety.

WPL manufactured gobo stencils to project the company logo

Our team finalised the event in March before discussing the finishing touches in more detail. WPL manufactured gobo stencils to project the company logo onto the pillars in the hall and the team familiarised themselves with the slides that would be used for the event. Following this, we attended a final site visit at Mansion House to discuss the rigging and de-rigging schedule with the venue so they were aware of the timescales we required access to the building.

Our team arrived on site at 10.30am ready for install

The 9th of May was show day. Our team arrived on site at 10.30am ready for installation. Rig was completed by 13.30 ready for rehearsals. Three technicians were present during the event to control audio, visual and lighting aspects. All technicians were present during a pre-production meeting to discuss the running order with the client to make sure everything ran smoothly.

WPL executed the event flawlessly

Last minute changes to the running order resulted in “on the fly” editing by our technicians due to a change in the running order for presenters. The technicians synced music to run with presentations seamlessly and executed the event flawlessly. The client was extremely happy with the result and congratulated WPL for the support and services provided.
